Malacañang has ordered the cancellation of passports for Alice Guo, her siblings Wesley and Sheila, and Katherine Cassandra Ong following their involvement in the Philippine offshore gaming operator (POGO) controversy.
Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin issued the directive on August 20, highlighting that Guo and her family face Senate arrest warrants and criminal charges, including qualified trafficking.
Guo, who was recently confirmed to have left the country in July, had her passport canceled to limit her movements and facilitate her capture.
Senator Risa Hontiveros had previously urged the DFA to act, noting Guo’s status as a Chinese national and her illegal activities.
Alongside trafficking charges, Guo also faces tax evasion allegations related to her business dealings.
