MALABON PLANS NEW WASTE TRANSFER SCHEME AFTER NAVOTAS LANDFILL SHUTDOWN

The Malabon City government assured residents that garbage collection will continue uninterrupted despite the permanent closure of the Navotas landfill.

In a statement, officials said proactive planning enabled the city to maintain waste management operations smoothly.

Malabon has established a waste transfer station and deployed its own garbage trucks to haul waste to a sanitary landfill in Rodriguez, Rizal.

The local government emphasized that early action and planning helped ensure a cleaner and more resilient community.

The closure of the Navotas landfill has forced neighboring cities to seek alternative waste disposal solutions.
