Batangas 1st District Rep. Leandro Leviste announced that he will not accept kickbacks, his salary, or his congressional office budget, but continues to donate to the public.
He recently distributed 250,000 Noche Buena packages funded entirely from his personal resources at no cost to the government.
Leviste said he finds joy in giving, emphasizing that such donations make others happy.
He also called for reducing VAT and other regressive taxes while urging wealthier Filipinos to contribute more through taxes and philanthropy.
In addition to the Noche Buena packs, Leviste’s foundation plans to distribute 250,000 umbrellas to families before Christmas.
