LACSON ON DPWH’S FLOOD PROJECT PROBE: “GOOD LUCK TO US ALL”

Senator Panfilo Lacson expressed skepticism over the Department of Public Works and Highways’ (DPWH) ability to investigate corruption within its own ranks, likening it to inmates investigating their own prison.

He criticized the DPWH’s internal anti-corruption measures, like lifestyle checks and travel suspensions, as insufficient without actual cases filed and convictions made.

Lacson urged for greater transparency in the budget process, calling for lawmakers to share accountability for projects they insert.

Meanwhile, concerns about substandard flood control projects in Batangas have surfaced, with local officials demanding explanations and corrective actions from the DPWH.

Additionally, Lacson revealed allegations of extortion and “accreditation for sale” involving the Philippine Contractors Accreditation Board, calling for further investigations.
