The Independent Commission for Infrastructure (ICI) on December 3 recommended plunder, bribery, corruption, and administrative charges against former senator Bong Revilla Jr. and alleged bagman Maynard Ngu, among others.
Additional case buildup was suggested for former Senate president Chiz Escudero, Makati Mayor Nancy Binay, former senator Grace Poe, and Senator Mark Villar due to testimony linking them to alleged DPWH corruption.
ICI Chair Andres Reyes Jr. emphasized that the charges stem from the gravity of allegations and evidence presented, including Bernardo’s testimony before the Senate Blue Ribbon Committee.
The commission also referred more evidence to the Ombudsman for potential charges against former DPWH officials, engineers, and a COA commissioner.
The move signals ongoing efforts to hold multiple high-profile officials accountable in the massive infrastructure corruption scheme.
