Newly elected House Speaker Bojie Dy has revoked Rep. Elizaldy Co’s travel clearance, ordering him to return to the Philippines within 10 days or face disciplinary and legal action.
Co, currently in the U.S. for medical treatment, is facing allegations of budget manipulation and receiving kickbacks from flood control projects linked to his family’s construction firms.
Co’s removal comes amid criticism from House leaders over controversies tied to the 2025 national budget and accusations involving Vice President Sara Duterte.
Co previously slashed the Office of the Vice President’s budget, leading to public disputes with Duterte.
President Marcos has assured the public that Co will be investigated thoroughly as part of a probe into anomalous infrastructure projects.
