The government has launched an investigation into PrimeWater Infrastructure Corp., following customer complaints about poor service and high costs.
The Local Water Utilities Administration (LWUA) is leading the probe into PrimeWater’s 73 joint venture agreements with local water districts across the country.
Customers from various provinces, including Bulacan, Cavite, Laguna, Bohol, and Pangasinan, have voiced their grievances about the service.
Malacañang dismissed claims by Vice President Sara Duterte that the investigation was politically motivated, stating that the issues date back to the previous administration under former President Rodrigo Duterte.
Government officials emphasized that the investigation is in response to public concerns, intending to ensure transparency and address the water provider’s performance.
