Gilas Pilipinas head coach Tim Cone expressed excitement after Quentin Millora-Brown was officially classified as a local player by FIBA, making him eligible to join the national team.
Standing 6-foot-10, Millora-Brown brings much-needed size and athleticism, which Cone described as “exactly what the doctor ordered” for Gilas’ inside game.
The announcement comes after the team’s disappointing exit from the 2025 FIBA Asia Cup, where they lacked key big men like Kai Sotto.
Cone highlighted the challenge Gilas faced, relying mainly on AJ Edu, Japeth Aguilar, and June Mar Fajardo without sufficient frontline depth.
Millora-Brown, who previously played for the University of the Philippines, said it would be “amazing” to represent Gilas and join Cone’s system.
