The Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) announced plans to significantly expand the OFW Hospital (OFWH) this year to meet the rising demand for services.
The expansion includes obtaining a Level 2 license from the Department of Health, which will allow the hospital to open Intensive Care Units and offer more specialty clinics and outpatient services.
The DMW reported a 92% increase in inpatient services and a 19% rise in outpatient visits during the first quarter of 2025, indicating growing trust in the hospital’s services for overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) and their families.
Additionally, the hospital has seen growth in its radiology, laboratory, heart, and respiratory departments, with a 30% increase in radiology procedures and a 34% increase in heart station services.
The OFWH also plans to become a licensed cancer treatment facility and is working on expanding its digital systems and constructing a Cancer Center.
