“The Pitt” and “Widow’s Bay” emerged as the top winners at the Emmy Awards, with “Widow’s Bay” setting a new comedy record with 14 wins.
Jean Smart and Allison Janney tied the acting record with their eighth Emmy victories, while Smart became the first performer to win Outstanding Lead Actress – Comedy for every season of a series.
Matthew Rhys made history by becoming the first actor to win two lead acting Emmys at the same ceremony and the first man to collect three lead acting Emmys.
Hiro Murai also made history as the first Asian winner of Outstanding Directing – Comedy, while nearly 91-year-old Julie Andrews became the oldest Primetime Emmy recipient.
Other major acting winners included Noah Wyle, Rhea Seehorn, Sally Field, Stephen Root, Kate O’Flynn and Tom Pelphrey.
