Senator JV Ejercito recommended placing Syms Construction contractor Sally Santos under the Department of Justice’s Witness Protection Program due to her fear for her and her family’s safety.
Santos reported suspicious cars frequently passing by her home, raising concerns for her security.
Senate President Pro Tempore Panfilo Lacson said the recommendation will undergo further evaluation by the Senate.
Senate President Vicente Sotto III emphasized that Santos must first provide substantial information before protection is granted.
Sotto also rejected a similar protection request for contractors Curlee and Sarah Discaya, citing their alleged involvement in corruption and dishonesty.
