Aspirants for Davao City’s first district congressional seat have agreed to undergo drug testing ahead of the 2025 midterm elections.
Incumbent Rep. Paolo Duterte challenged Rep. Margarita “Migs” Nograles to a hair follicle test to prove their integrity to voters.
Nograles accepted the challenge, proposing they take the test simultaneously to demonstrate transparency.
While Nograles underwent her test in Davao City, Duterte took his in Mandaluyong City, emphasizing that he is willing to take multiple tests if needed.
The political rivalry, rooted in their families’ past, continues to play a role in the campaign, with Nograles also facing off against Duterte’s former ally in the mayoral race.
