President Marcos has ordered the Department of Health (DOH) to make the Cancer Assistance Fund (CAF) more accessible to patients in need.
He directed the DOH to intensify information campaigns to increase awareness about the program, which provides up to P150,000 for cancer treatment and diagnostic tests.
Marcos noted that many patients do not avail themselves of the fund simply because they are unaware of it.
To address this, Health Secretary Teodoro Herbosa will release a list of 34 DOH-accredited hospitals nationwide where the CAF can be accessed.
Each hospital also has assigned personnel to help assess and assist cancer patients in applying for the fund.
