The Philippines and Denmark have drafted a bilateral agreement to provide Filipino health and care workers with expanded training and clearer career pathways.
The Memorandum of Understanding focuses on education, skills alignment, and professional development rather than just overseas placement.
Under the agreement, deployment will follow a government-to-government model, ensuring Filipino workers receive the same rights and working conditions as Danish counterparts.
The initiative also supports capacity-building in the Philippines through training, knowledge transfer, and circular migration.
A pilot program for elderly care helpers will start first, with plans to expand to nurses and other health positions, overseen by a joint committee once the MOU is signed.
