DELIVERY RIDER ESCAPES ALLEGED 9-HOUR ABDUCTION, FILES CASE VS. 7 MPD COPS

A food delivery rider, Chester Dumaran, filed administrative complaints against seven Manila Police District officers over an alleged nine-hour abduction in Sampaloc, Manila.

Dumaran claimed he and a companion were forcibly taken by plainclothes men, allegedly police officers, who handcuffed them and drove around several areas while threatening harm.

During the ordeal, Dumaran said the suspects forced him to transfer money from his GCash account and tried to cover up the incident as a drug arrest.

The police, however, accused Dumaran and his companion of drug-related offenses, a claim Dumaran denies.

The National Police Commission vowed a thorough investigation and assured Dumaran’s protection amid the allegations.
