DELA ROSA MISSING AS SENATE RESUMES; HOUSE LAUNCHES DIGITAL TRANSPARENCY APP

The Senate resumed session after the holiday break, but the continued absence of Sen. Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa remains unresolved, with Senate President Vicente Sotto III saying he has received no formal communication from the senator.

Dela Rosa, who marked his 64th birthday last week, claimed via social media that he is “alive and well” and waiting for justice to prevail, while reportedly carrying out duties remotely through his staff.

His absence has drawn public criticism, especially after he signed the minority report on the flood control controversy despite not being physically present.

Meanwhile, the House of Representatives announced the development of the “House Book” app, which will use blockchain technology to digitize congressional processes, track votes, and make public documents more accessible.

Speaker Faustino Dy III emphasized that the app is part of a broader effort to ensure transparency, accountability, and efficiency in government operations.
