Dante Francis Ang II was sworn in as the new chairperson and CEO of the Commission on Filipinos Overseas (CFO) in a ceremony administered by Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin.
His appointment, signed by President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. on October 16, follows the term of former CFO chairperson Romulo Arugay.
Ang has a diverse background in media and public service, starting as a reporter in the U.S. before returning to the Philippines to work in public relations and foreign service roles.
He has also served as chairperson of the National Book Development Board and as a board member of the Clark International Airport Corporation.
The CFO, established in 1980, aims to protect and promote the rights and welfare of overseas Filipinos while facilitating their contributions to development projects in the Philippines.
