Veteran showbiz columnist Cristy Fermin expressed shock upon learning that an arrest warrant has been issued against her and her co-hosts Rommel Villamor and Wendell Alvarez in connection with a libel case filed by actress Bea Alonzo.
The Quezon City Regional Trial Court Branch 93 released the warrant and imposed a fine of P48,000 each on July 30.
Cristy said she was unaware of the warrant’s existence and plans to address the issue immediately.
The libel case stems from comments made on Cristy’s show alleging that Bea had tax and labor issues, following the actress’s breakup with Dominic Roque.
Bea Alonzo’s legal team has maintained that she will continue pursuing criminal charges against those responsible for the damaging statements.
