COMMUTER DEVELOPS REAL-TIME LRT, MRT TRACKING APP

Software engineer RJ Crusem developed TrainSight, a mobile app that allows commuters to track the real-time locations of LRT and MRT trains to reduce uncertainty and delays.

Inspired by FlightRadar24, the platform uses multiple data sources, including user devices and train-mounted hardware trackers, to monitor train operations.

The app currently supports LRT-1, LRT-2, and MRT-3, with plans to add MRT-7, while its developers work with government agencies ahead of its launch.

Crusem said TrainSight could also improve transparency and help train operators respond more quickly to technical issues.

The app is set to launch on Google Play in August and on the Apple App Store between September and October.
