The Philippine Red Cross (PRC) and the National Kidney and Transplant Institute (NKTI) signed an agreement to boost public awareness about organ and tissue donation during PRC’s 34th Biennial National Convention.
The partnership centers on the Department of Health’s Human Organ Preservation Effort, which promotes organ retrieval and donation.
PRC Chairman Richard Gordon emphasized the importance of giving individuals the power to make their own decisions about organ donation.
The initiative also seeks to revive the 2014 “I Am A Lifeline Campaign,” which had successfully recruited 2,000 donors.
NKTI Executive Director Dr. Rosete-Liquete highlighted the program’s goal of uniting people to help save more lives.
