Vice President Sara Duterte confirmed she will attend the Department of Justice’s preliminary investigation into the NBI’s complaint over her alleged threat to kill President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.
Speaking in Cagayan de Oro, Duterte said she had received a subpoena and is finalizing her counter-affidavit with her legal team.
She previously ignored NBI invitations, claiming the Marcos administration had already decided to file the complaint regardless of her input.
The case adds to her mounting legal challenges, including an impeachment trial and alleged inclusion in the International Criminal Court’s arrest list.
Meanwhile, the PNP denied online rumors about a raid on former president Rodrigo Duterte’s residence, calling it fake news and confirming no such operation is planned.
