The Quezon City government has issued a warning about a fake AI-generated video falsely showing Mayor Joy Belmonte endorsing an investment opportunity.
In an official advisory, the city clarified that the video uses artificial intelligence to imitate the mayor’s voice and image to deceive the public.
Similar deepfake videos have also circulated online, featuring other prominent figures such as President Marcos, Vice President Sara Duterte, journalists, and businessmen.
Authorities urged the public not to share personal information or click on suspicious links from these fraudulent accounts.
Residents are advised to contact the local government through Helpline 122 or the official Quezon City Facebook page for any concerns.
