President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. announced that the arrest warrant for billionaire contractor Sarah Discaya is expected to be issued within the week in connection with the flood control scandal in Davao Occidental. Her husband, Pacifico “Curlee” Discaya II, remains in Senate detention for contempt after allegedly providing inconsistent statements during a Senate hearing. The case involves a P96.5-million flood control project in Jose Abad Santos, which was declared completed and fully paid for in 2022 despite no actual work being done. The Philippine National Police has deployed intelligence and tracker teams to locate Discaya and other individuals facing malversation and anti-graft charges. Additionally, eight DPWH officials from Davao Occidental have expressed their intent to surrender to the National Bureau of Investigation.
