DepEd Secretary Sonny Angara welcomed strong support from major private school associations during the Philippine Education Conference 2025, highlighting their role in advancing nationwide education reforms.
Over 3,500 education leaders attended the event, where groups such as COCOPEA, CEAP, and PACU praised DepEd’s leadership and the Senate’s approval of its ₱1.044-trillion 2026 budget.
The budget will expand support for private school students through the Education Service Contracting and Senior High School Voucher programs, benefiting over 2.5 million learners.
Angara emphasized public-private complementarity, including leasing idle private school campuses as temporary classrooms and providing increased teacher subsidies and training.
He stressed that successful reform requires strong cooperation from the private sector to strengthen the entire education system.
