Sacked DPWH district engineer Henry Alcantara admitted to accepting two luxury cars from subordinate Brice Hernandez but denied involvement in the Bulacan flood control kickback scheme.
Hernandez accused Alcantara and two senators of participating in the multi-million peso kickback, claiming Alcantara asked him to buy a P5 million watch.
Alcantara acknowledged being in a viral photo with stacks of cash and admitted to gambling, but insisted the money was his own.
He denied knowledge of corruption despite senators questioning his acceptance of luxury items and large sums of cash.
Meanwhile, Hernandez claimed Alcantara pressured him to take the blame for the scheme, while Alcantara said he urged employees to tell the truth.
