President Marcos has directed the Bureau of Customs (BOC) and the Department of Agriculture (DA) to operate 24/7 to ensure uninterrupted shipment processes nationwide.
This directive, announced during a meeting with the Private Sector Advisory Council (PSAC) on June 5, mandates three eight-hour shifts to maintain continuous logistics and supply chain operations.
Marcos emphasized the necessity of round-the-clock operations without additional teams, just maintaining current staffing levels continuously.
The PSAC, represented by Aboitiz Equity Ventures CEO Sabin Aboitiz, highlighted that this initiative will reduce costs and processing times, particularly in x-ray scanning and reefer van inspections.
The PSAC, established to support the government’s economic transformation goals, includes experts from various sectors such as agriculture, digital infrastructure, and tourism.
