YEDDA ROMUALDEZ, TINGOG PARTY-LIST APPLAUDS NEW CAREER PROGRESSION LAW FOR PUBLIC SCHOOL TEACHERS

President Marcos has signed Republic Act No. 12288, the Career Progression System for Public School Teachers and School Leaders Act, which establishes competency-based promotions and equitable salary increases for public school teachers.

Tingog Party-list Rep. Yedda Marie Romualdez called the law a “victory for Filipino learners” as it creates new teaching positions and ensures fairer opportunities for career advancement.

The law shifts promotions from a vacancy-based to a merit-based system, promoting fairness and transparency in the education sector, according to Rep. Andrew Julian Romualdez.

Rep. Jude Acidre emphasized that the measure restores dignity to the teaching profession and aligns teacher development with student success.

Tingog Party-list lawmakers pledged to continue pushing reforms that empower teachers and improve education nationwide.
