Vice President Sara Duterte has returned to the Philippines after a personal trip to Malaysia, where she also attended an Independence Day event and met with overseas Filipino workers.
She arrived at Ninoy Aquino International Airport early Saturday morning via Philippine Airlines.
Duterte is scheduled to attend the 2025 PASIDUNGOG awarding ceremony in Davao City on June 16.
Senators Imee Marcos and Robin Padilla accompanied her on the trip, and Duterte made remarks comparing Imee Marcos to a “hostage” due to the situation involving former President Rodrigo Duterte, who is detained in The Hague on ICC charges.
Meanwhile, the Vice President is currently facing an impeachment complaint related to threats against key government officials and alleged misuse of public funds.
