Senior Citizens Rep. Rodolfo Ordanes reminded seniors that they will receive a 40% fare discount on subsidized public utility vehicles starting April 15.
The increase comes from an additional 20% discount on top of the existing 20% mandated by law.
The measure is part of the Department of Transportation’s net service contracting program covering 823 routes.
It applies to traditional and modern jeepneys, UV Express vans, city buses, and EDSA Carousel buses.
Ordanes said the initiative also supports drivers and operators, including senior citizens, in the transport sector.
