Overseas voting for the May 2025 midterm elections officially began yesterday, with Filipinos across the world casting their votes at Philippine embassies and consulates.
The Commission on Elections (Comelec) announced that the month-long voting period will run until May 12, coinciding with the end of voting hours in the Philippines.
In addition to in-person voting, registered overseas voters can also cast their ballots online, with internet voting available 24/7 at 77 Philippine posts.
As of now, only 48,000 of the 1.231 million overseas Filipino voters have enrolled for online voting, with enrollment continuing until May 12.
The Comelec also reported over 57,000 approved applications for local absentee voting, which is available to government employees, military personnel, and members of the media on duty during election day.
