UNIFIED LEARNER DATA SYSTEM TO BE ESTABLISHED THROUGH KEY EDUCATION AGREEMENT

The Department of Education (DepEd), Commission on Higher Education (CHED), and Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) have signed a landmark agreement to create a unified learner data system for Filipino students.

This new system will use a single Learner Reference Number (LRN) to track students seamlessly from basic education through higher and technical-vocational education, addressing the current fragmented records across agencies.

The initiative aims to improve policymaking, student support, and alignment between education and labor market needs by providing comprehensive data on learners’ educational journeys.

The agencies plan to pilot the system by 2026 and fully implement it by 2027, with collaboration from other government bodies and technical support from the Education Center for AI Research.

This unified data system is expected to enhance scholarship programs, enrollment planning, and workforce upskilling, ultimately fostering more effective and evidence-based education reforms.
