Tingog Party-list Rep. Jude Acidre said his group is prepared to provide immediate assistance to communities affected by Typhoon Uwan, following a similar response during Typhoon Tino.
The party-list has already inventoried relief supplies and coordinated with partner organizations to ensure the swift distribution of aid.
Acidre highlighted that residents in Leyte and Eastern Visayas, severely impacted by Super Typhoon Yolanda 12 years ago, are now better prepared and have more equipped evacuation centers.
In Tacloban City, flood mitigation measures like the tide embankment helped reduce damage from Typhoon Tino, demonstrating the importance of both preparation and response.
With an average of 20 typhoons hitting the Philippines annually, Acidre emphasized the need for proactive measures to protect communities from natural disasters.
