Starting October 30, all case filings before the Supreme Court will go fully digital as part of the nationwide rollout of the eCourt PH platform aimed at modernizing the country’s judiciary.
Senior Associate Justice Marvic Leonen said the Court will end its hybrid filing system and transition to entirely paperless submissions, linking the Sandiganbayan, Court of Appeals, and Court of Tax Appeals to the platform by December.
The eCourt PH system features AI-assisted tools like Scriptix for transcription, videoconferencing, and public access to court calendars, with the judiciary set to adopt the country’s first AI governance framework.
Justice Antonio Kho Jr. said the High Performance Courts framework is being finalized to improve efficiency, while Justice Rodil Zalameda highlighted the expansion of the Unified Legal Aid Service (ULAS) to ensure free legal aid through digital means.
The Supreme Court’s digital transformation, supported by international partners, has already improved case clearance and resolution rates across courts.
