State insurers SSS and GSIS have offered over ₱10 billion in calamity loans to support members affected by the recent Cebu earthquake.
The Department of Finance, led by Secretary Ralph Recto, directed government financial institutions to provide immediate assistance, including cash aid, concessional loans, and expedited insurance claims.
SSS plans to allocate ₱10 to ₱15 billion for its Calamity Loan Program in 2025, while GSIS offers emergency loans of up to ₱40,000 with flexible payment terms.
GSIS also ensures continuous service for members through digital platforms and local branches.
Other agencies like Pag-IBIG, Landbank, and the Insurance Commission have also mobilized support and fast-tracked claims processing to aid disaster victims.
