The Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) has received two air quality monitoring units from South Korea under the Clean Air for Sustainable ASEAN (CASA) Project.
The turnover was marked by a memorandum of understanding signed between DENR’s Environmental Management Bureau and Seoul National University, formalizing South Korea’s technical support.
The new monitoring units will be installed in Pasay City and Quezon City to track pollutants like PM2.5 and ozone, enhancing the country’s air quality network.
This upgraded capacity aims to provide real-time data to support targeted environmental interventions, especially in urban areas.
DENR Assistant Secretary Jacqueline Caancan emphasized that the CASA Project will strengthen scientific research and enable smarter, evidence-based policies.
