Shiela Guo, a Chinese national repatriated from Indonesia, may be considered a state witness in the DOJ’s investigation into illegal activities involving Philippine offshore gaming operators (POGOs), according to DOJ Undersecretary Nicholas Felix Ty.
Guo, who was previously identified as Zhang Mier, faces multiple charges including disobedience to summons and using a fraudulent Philippine passport.
At a Senate hearing, she revealed that she was not born in the Philippines and has limited knowledge of the operations of the raided POGO in Bamban.
The DOJ has also filed charges against Guo and her associate Cassandra Li Ong for evading arrest and obstructing justice.
Meanwhile, Guo faces potential deportation from Indonesia due to her limited 30-day stay and the ongoing anti-money laundering investigations linked to the Bamban POGO hub.
