ROAD TO PARIS: PHILIPPINE ATHLETES GEAR UP WITH TRAINING CAMP IN FRANCE

Ahead of the Paris Olympics, all Philippine athletes, along with their trainers and nutritionists, will undergo a month-long training camp in the city of Metz, France, starting in late June.

The camp aims to acclimatize the athletes to the weather and provide them with the necessary facilities and equipment for their final preparations.

Spearheaded by athletes like EJ Obiena, Caloy Yulo, and Vanessa Sarno, the Philippines aims to replicate the success of Hidilyn Diaz’s gold medal win in Tokyo.

The training venue in Metz offers Olympic-regulated facilities for various sports and will also provide sparring partners for boxing competitions.

Additionally, Cignal TV plans to produce a 13-part miniseries covering Team Philippines’ journey towards the Olympics, celebrating 100 years of Filipino excellence in the Games.

The campaign, titled “Isang Daang Taon Laban Para sa Bayan,” will be broadcast across free and pay TV channels and live-streaming platforms.

The initiative commemorates sprinter David Nepomuceno’s participation in the 1924 Summer Olympics, marking a century of Filipino Olympic history.
