The Commission on Elections (Comelec) will begin voter registration for the barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) elections on October 20 nationwide, except in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM).
Registration will run until May 18, but in BARMM, it will start on May 1 and end on the same date due to the upcoming parliamentary elections in March.
Comelec Chairman George Garcia explained that the staggered schedule aims to avoid confusion among BARMM voters.
The commission expects up to 1.4 million registrants during the seven months.
The barangay and SK elections are scheduled nationwide for December 2026.
