PSC GRANTS P6K BONUS TO FILIPINO PARA ATHLETES, COACHES FOR ASEAN PARA GAMES

The Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) announced that Filipino para athletes and coaches competing in the 2026 ASEAN Para Games in Thailand will each receive a P6,000 bonus.

The week-long games run from January 20 to 26 in Nakhon Ratchasima, with the Philippine contingent represented by 216 athletes.

PSC Chairman Patrick “Pato” Gregorio encouraged the team to give their best, noting that medalists will also receive government cash incentives under RA 10699, with P150K for gold, P75K for silver, and P30K for bronze.

The bonus mirrors support previously given to Southeast Asian Games athletes, aiming to boost morale and performance.

The Philippines seeks to improve on its fifth-place finish in the 2023 Para Games in Cambodia, where the team won a total of 116 medals, highlighted by chess player Darry Bernardo and swimmer Angel Otom.
