The Philippines and Malaysia co-chaired the 20th High-Level Task Force meeting on the ASEAN Community Vision (HLTF-ACV) 2045 in Kuala Lumpur from January 21 to 23.
The meeting focused on finalizing strategic plans for ASEAN’s political-security, economic, socio-cultural, and connectivity goals over the next 20 years.
The ASEAN Community Vision 2045 and its accompanying documents are nearly complete and are set to be issued at the ASEAN Summit in Kuala Lumpur on May 26.
The next HLTF-ACV meeting will be held in Manila in February to finalize details with input from stakeholders and cross-sector coordination.
Ambassadors Elizabeth Buensuceso and Luis Cruz led the Philippine delegation, while Malaysia’s delegation was headed by Dato’ Zainuddin Yahya and Dato’ Mohd Suhaimi Jaafar.
