PHILIPPINES ACHIEVES HISTORIC 4TH PLACE IN 13TH ASEAN PARA GAMES

Team Philippines delivered a record-breaking performance at the 13th ASEAN Para Games in Nakhon Ratchasima, Thailand, winning 45 gold, 37 silver, and 52 bronze medals to secure fourth place overall—the country’s best finish since joining the biennial meet.

Filipino athletes surpassed their previous 2023 record of 34-33-50 medals, highlighted by five golds in para chess on the final day.

The Philippine Sports Commission lauded the athletes for their preparation, determination, and “sensational winning moments” that elevated the country’s overall standing.

Host Thailand dominated the medal tally with 175 golds, followed by Indonesia and Malaysia, while Vietnam ranked fifth.

The achievement reflects the growing strength of Filipino para-athletes and sets a new benchmark for future regional competitions.
