PH JINS CAPTURE TWO MEDALS AT THE ASIAN TAEKWONDO TOURNAMENT

The Philippines secured its first medals at the 6th Asian Taekwondo Open Championships in Tangerang, Indonesia, with Nicole McCann winning silver and Abigail Valdez earning bronze. 

The Philippine Taekwondo Association (PTA) celebrated their achievements, stating, “Congratulations to Nicole Anne McCann for winning silver in Women’s -57 kg and Abigail Faye Valdez for her bronze in Women’s -49 kg.” 

McCann claimed silver after a strong performance, defeating opponents from Pakistan and Indonesia before losing to Megawati Maheswari in the finals. 

Valdez earned her bronze after losing to eventual champion Winda Putri in the semifinals. 

Other Filipino competitors, including Rryshel Ramirez and Sharifa de la Cruz, have yet to compete in the tournament.
