The PCSO has completed 98 percent of its nationwide Patient Transport Vehicle (PTV) rollout, reaching 1,620 out of 1,642 cities and municipalities.
A turnover ceremony on Nov. 25 in Bacolod City saw 82 PTVs distributed to local government units in Western Visayas and the Negros Island Region.
The vehicles, equipped for medical emergencies, aim to provide safer and faster patient transport, especially for communities far from hospitals.
PCSO officials said the program supports the government’s goal of bringing healthcare directly to the people.
In 2025, an additional 395 PTVs will be procured to expand coverage to the remaining areas still without access.
