Malacañang confirmed that President Marcos is ready to release his statement of assets, liabilities, and net worth (SALN) to the proper authorities, including the Office of the Ombudsman.
Presidential Communications Undersecretary Claire Castro stressed that SALNs should not be used indiscriminately for political attacks and that the administration will follow established guidelines.
Cabinet officials agreed to comply with the Ombudsman’s procedures on public access to SALNs, ensuring security and privacy for public officials.
Opposition lawmaker Leila de Lima criticized the delay, urging the President and his Cabinet to adopt full transparency in line with the Freedom of Information Act.
So far, only 11 of 317 lawmakers have voluntarily released their SALNs.
