OPAPRU Secretary Carlito Galvez Jr. pledged to sustain the government’s peace agenda in 2025, building on significant milestones achieved in 2024.
Key accomplishments include progress in the Bangsamoro peace process, the SALW program, localized peace engagements, and initiatives for former rebels.
The agency also highlighted the first International Conference on Women, Peace, and Security (ICWPS) held in the Philippines and the construction of the Peace and Development Center in Baguio City.
Galvez credited these breakthroughs to President Marcos Jr., peace stakeholders, and Filipinos’ collective efforts.
Looking ahead, he assured readiness to address challenges in the continued pursuit of just and lasting peace.
