The provincial government of Nueva Vizcaya is seeking technical assistance from Canada-based Catalyste+ to support the sustainable development and activation of Bagabag Airport as part of its long-term tourism and economic growth strategy.
Gov. Jose Gambito said the project aims to improve connectivity, attract investors, and create jobs by positioning the airport as a hub for aviation schools, tourism enterprises, logistics, and other businesses.
Provincial officials met with representatives from Global Affairs Canada, the Embassy of Canada, and Catalyste+ to discuss viability studies, investment planning, and strategies to engage private partners.
The proposal is currently under review in Canada after being endorsed by Catalyste+ Philippines, which has long partnered with the province on development initiatives.
Officials said the airport activation is a key priority expected to boost regional connectivity and economic activity across Cagayan Valley.
