National Police Commission (Napolcom) Vice Chairman Rafael Vicente Calinisan confirmed that two groups attempted to influence the investigation into 12 police officers linked to the disappearance of cockfighting enthusiasts or sabungeros.
One group is allegedly tied to a cockfighting financier seeking to shield the officers, while another is linked to a local official trying to clear his name.
Calinisan emphasized that Napolcom will not tolerate interference, citing President Marcos’ directive for a no-cover-up, no-compromise approach.
The officers have submitted their counter-affidavits in response to complaints from a key witness, “Alyas Totoy,” as the agency continues reviewing the case.
Calinisan reaffirmed their commitment to integrity and urged those with information to come forward for the sake of justice.
