Filipino rock band Mayonnaise reunited with their song inspiration, SexBomb dancer Jopay Paguia-Zamora, during the second night of the group’s reunion concert on December 9 at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.
The band’s hit “Jopay,” originally released in 2004, was inspired by seeing the dancer cry on television, prompting lead vocalist Monty Macalino to write a song specifically for her.
During the performance, Jopay joined the stage, hugged Macalino, and danced to the iconic track, delighting thousands of fans in attendance.
Macalino explained that he wanted to create a song that connected with her emotionally, even without knowing her personally.
The SexBomb Dancers’ two-day reunion concert continues the celebration of their legacy, with a third show teased for the near future.
