President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. vowed that the Cavite-Laguna Expressway (CALAx) would be completed on time as part of efforts to improve transportation infrastructure in the Philippines.
During his inspection of the CALAx Governor’s Drive Interchange in General Trias City, Marcos emphasized the project’s importance for easing travel and benefiting workers.
The 44.6-kilometer expressway, which is 44% complete, aims to connect Cavite and Laguna, decongest Governor’s Drive, and reduce travel time between major roads by 45 minutes.
The Governor’s Drive Interchange is set to be finished by the third quarter of 2025.
Marcos also highlighted the government’s “whole-of-government” approach to address Filipinos’ needs, exemplified by a job fair in Cavite offering 3,600 job vacancies.
