President Marcos departed Manila on July 20 for an official visit to Washington, D.C., aiming to engage with U.S. President Donald Trump in trade talks amid looming global tariffs.
Marcos emphasized that his top priority is to foster stronger economic ties through trade and investment, aiming to secure a bilateral trade deal that benefits both countries.
His visit builds on previous exchanges between Philippine and U.S. officials and aims to strengthen the long-standing alliance in security, defense, and economic collaboration.
Marcos also plans to meet with U.S. business leaders to explore opportunities for Philippine economic growth.
While he is away, a three-man Executive Committee will manage day-to-day government operations to ensure continuous governance.
